CesTek optimizes production flow at VOLA
Once again, VOLA has thought outside the box to optimize their production flow.
In their CNC department, they have installed DIAP data collection on all 18 machines.
The DIAP units collect real-time data from each production machine. Both production data from the machine process as well as errors and alarms are collected. The installation was carried out with a minimum of downtime, because DIAP simply uses the existing data on the machines. In addition to the short installation time, the advantage of DIAP is that it is simple and user-friendly to operate and the screens that are displayed are easy to understand. The possibilities are many and it is up to the company to decide what to measure in the individual production.
At VOLA, they have, among other things, installed the DIAP application OEE (Overall Equipment Efficiency). Here they get an overview of the machine's productivity and the reasons for and duration of production stops. VOLA has chosen for the system to log 6 different reasons for stops on each machine. The reasons for the stoppage can subsequently be broken down and reviewed in detail on the included web interface, for both duration and frequency. Large screens have been set up in the production hall so that employees can easily get an overview of the current production status on all machines. In addition, employees have access to a screen at each individual machine, where they can enter details about production stops in DIAP's OEE software.
Unlike before, DIAP has given VOLA a detailed insight into their production processes, as they now know the cause of the stops that occur during the day. They pass this information on to their operators, who can then make further optimizations.
VOLA chose DIAP because of its ease of use, short installation time, expansion options and the fact that they can easily change what they are measuring.
