Focus on the working environment and efficient palletizing

Øland A/S wanted to optimize the internal handling of spiro ducts in connection with a new production machine in Brøndby. The goal was a simple, reliable and flexible palletizing solution that could be integrated directly into the existing process and reduce manual handling.

  • Manual handling of ducts in a pallet frame on the floor was time-consuming and physically demanding

  • New production of spiro ducts required efficient palletizing directly from the machine

Automated palletizing – directly from production

CESTEK developed a custom palletizing solution that handles spiro ducts directly from the production line and places them correctly in pallet frames on the floor.

The solution is built around an existing outfeed table from the machine and is supplemented with a lifting and pusher mechanism that ensures controlled placement of each layer of ducts.

The palletizing system can be manually set for two different duct lengths and is prepared for later automatic changeover.

Up/down movement is driven by Siemens servo motors, while in/out movement is handled with FESTO pneumatics. The system is monitored with OMRON position sensors for safe and precise operation.

The control system consists of a Siemens PLC with associated HMI. Via an integrated recipe program, the operator can easily select the duct type, after which the palletizing sequence is automatically adjusted.

The system is guarded on the sides and secured with a light curtain at the front to create a safe working environment around the palletizing area.
