The RG6 from OnRobot is an electric 2-finger robot gripper developed for applications with higher requirements for gripping range, flexibility, and robustness. With a maximum gripping range of 150 mm and intelligent software features, the RG6 is particularly well suited for material handling, machine tending, and palletizing larger or more varied workpieces.
The gripper is based on OnRobot’s plug-and-produce concept, which makes it possible to significantly reduce commissioning time – often from days to hours. The pre-installed software ensures fast setup and intuitive programming, which can reduce programming time by up to 70% compared with traditional gripper solutions.
The RG6 automatically detects the gripping width at program start and requires no manual initialization. The gripper includes advanced features such as grip detected, lost grip detection, continuous grip monitoring, and workpiece width measurement, which increases operational reliability and reduces production errors.
The fingers can be easily adapted to the specific application and workpiece geometry, ensuring stable and gentle handling – also for fragile products. Automatic calculation of both TCP (Tool Center Point) and payload makes it possible to quickly change tasks and products without extensive programming.
The RG6 can be combined with the OnRobot Dual Quick Changer, enabling two grippers to be used simultaneously – e.g., RG2 and RG6 – in one and the same cycle. In many applications, this can increase productivity by up to 50%, as multiple workpieces can be handled in parallel.
